Abstract

What is it about ?

Nanoparticles are an important research field nowadays and the strong correlation between synthesis properties (size, shape, dispseristy, etc) and physical properties ( plasmon resonance position for example) undeniable. Among synthesis techniques, radiolysis as the advantage of allowing small and monodisperse nanoparticles which we combined with templating of the gold ions to control the nanoparticles shape and localization. The template chosen was a copolymer with positively charged monomer that interact strongly with negatively charged AuCl4-.

What will I talk about ?

How we manage to understand the lovely interactions between gold ions and our copolymer tails and how to correlate that to the radiolysis comportment. I will introduce you to the beauties of neutron diffraction (with intensive use of curves sexied-up for the occasion) for studying polymer physico-chemistry.
