Thanks to an exciting scientific program at the forefront of research on photonic, atomic, molecular, and electronic collisions, including ultracold matter, attosecond science, and relativistic plasmas we expect to bring together over 700 scientists from all over the world at ICPEAC 2019.
15 French institutes, belonging to CNRS and various universities or institutions, and located all over the country, are involved in the organization of ICPEAC 2019, of its tutorials, and some of its satellite meetings.
The main conference will take place at the Centre International de Deauville, in the waterfront area of Deauville downtown.
The tutorials will be held in the nearby city of Caen with 1000 years of history.

Deauville is a delightful resort, regarded as the “Queen of the Norman beaches”, linking the sea and the countryside. Deauville offers the possibility to visit unique cultural heritage: the Mont-Saint-Michel, Étretat, Honfleur and its old harbor, Trouville and its little fishing port, the D-Day landing beaches, the Pays d’Auge, its orchards, distilleries and stud farms, Bayeux and its famous tapestry, Caen memorial, etc.
Caen is one of the most important cities of Normandy. The home town of William the Conqueror, hero of the Battle of Hastings of 1066, Caen was vital for D-Day and the Normandy Landings in World War II.
The city has wonderful and varied religious and architectural heritage, as well as a much appreciated gastronomy offering.

... a conference held every two years on four continents, which gathers 500 to 800 participants at each edition.
The conference brings together world's leading scientists who are actively working in the field of collisions involving photons, electrons, ions, atoms, molecules, clusters, surfaces, and exotic particles. The latest advances of the domain will be presented, such as ultrafast dynamics at the femto- or attosecond scale, ion-induced radiation damage in particular of biomolecules, atomic spectroscopy and molecular physics of antimatter, free electron lasers, particle acceleration generated by high-power lasers, or ultracold collisions.

The program will start with three Tutorial Lectures that will be held on the downtown Campus of the University of Caen Normandy.
In Deauville, the ICPEAC scientific program will consist of 5 Plenary Lectures, 63 Progress Reports and 26 Special Reports. Plenary talks are of general interest to all participants. Progress Reports and Special Reports will be arranged in two parallel sessions, and are intended to present recent work in different subfields. In particular, the Special Reports are selected from the submitted abstracts to showcase the most recent developments. Additionally, about 1000 Posters will be presented in five poster sessions, held either during morning or afternoon sessions. The conference language is English.

The University of Caen Normandy (UNICAEN) is a member of Normandie Université, a research and higher education cluster, gathering the universities of Caen, Rouen, Le Havre and the engineering schools of Caen (ENSICAEN) and Rouen (INSA).
It has about 30 000 students, and more than 2 000 researchers working in 46 research units. Its exceptional scientific environment includes the GANIL facility (Grand Accélérateur National d’Ions Lourds), the largest heavy-ion accelerator in France where researchers from around the world perform their experiments.
The downtown campus of the University of Caen Normandy is thus particularly suited to host the TUTORIALS of ICPEAC, which will be opened and free of charge for Master and PhD students as well as Postdocs coming from all over the world. Note that these tutorials will be accessible to anyone who is interested.

The Deauville International Center (CID) hosts about 160 events every year, the most renowned one being the American Film Festival. The CID offers first –class facilities to organize a large international conference like ICPEAC: big auditorium, numerous conference rooms, and exhibition halls. The CID is ideally located on the seafront, in a scenic environment suitable for informal discussions among the attendees.

Caen and Deauville are both located in Normandy-Calvados, in just 45 mins by car, and are easy to reach from Paris (see the above interactive map). More detailed on Travel Information can be found here.
1800 rooms or apartments are located within 10 min walking distance from the International Center of Deauville (CID); quite a few hotel residences are available which can provide a good deal for participants including students. You can also think of renting a big house or even a small castle for your group!
Deauville is a very touristic location and summer is the peak season; so we advise all participants to book their accommodation as soon as possible and even now!
For the moment, please use your favorite website to reserve your accommodation in order to get a good rate. A few hotels will be secured by the conference organization but these will certainly be at a higher rate. Detailed information about the hotel and residences will be available on the dedicated page of the conference Website shortly.
For the invited talks (Tutorials, Plenary Lectures and Progress Reports), specific abstract templates will be sent to the speakers by the end of 2018. They will be published in the Conference Handbook.
The Tutorial lectures will be published in Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, and the Plenary Talks, Progress Reports and Special Reports, as a regular issue of Journal of Physics: Conference Series, an online open-access journal that is freely available without restriction (see the ICPEAC 2017 JPCS Proceedings).
Information concerning the submission of the Invited Papers manuscript files (page limits, styles, etc.) will be provided on the conference website and sent by electronic mail to all Invited Speakers by April 15, 2019.
Regular Abstracts, submitted by March 1, 2019, will be reviewed by the Program Committee and assigned to appropriate oral or poster sessions. 26 Special Reports will be selected from the submitted abstracts to showcase the most recent developments. The synopsis of their abstracts will appear in the Conference Handbook.
Additionally, authors will have the option to have their abstracts published online as part of the Conference Proceedings in Journal of Physics: Conference Series. Detailed information will be posted here when abstract submission opens.
Our general policy is to primarily help young researchers and students to attend the conference.
Limited funds will be certainly also available to support participants presenting invited talks or contributed posters. Participants from developing regions will be considered on our list of priorities.
Detailed instructions on grant for Young Scientists and support for participants will be posted on the Conference Website by January 2019, and the deadline to send those applications is March 1, 2019.

Participants coming from outside the Schengen Area wishing to enter France must be able to submit statutory documents at the border concerning the reasons for their stay, their means of support and accommodation arrangements.
A visa is generally required, in the absence of a waiver. For general information and for preparing, submitting and tracking your visa application, log on to France-Visas, France’s official visa site. France-Visas is a single portal with all the information you need to guide you through the process and help you every step of the way (preparing the application, entering details, submitting and tracking the application).
Waiting times for appointments and for processing applications will vary depending on your nationality and the time of year. Users are therefore asked to submit their visa applications well in advance of their departure date.
Five satellite meetings will be organized, during the days just before and after ICPEAC XXXI, in various French cities with convenient access from and to Deauville. One will be held in Belgrade with a schedule compatible with ICPEAC and easily reachable by direct flight.
The public lecture is free. The cost of the welcome reception is included in the full, student, and accompanying person registration fees. The conference dinner tickets will be available at an extra cost with a significant discount offered to students. In addition, a number of one or two-day excursions will be arranged both for the participants during the weekend and for accompanying persons throughout the conference.

During the Tutorials in Caen, exhibition stands devoted to young scientists and their future career will be welcome. The best location in will be reserved for them.
During the ICPEAC conference in Deauville, an exhibition will take place, welcoming high-tech companies and scientific editors. The exhibitors will be placed at strategic points, such as the poster halls and near the coffee-break points, in order to foster interactions with the participants.
